In a remarkable decade-long study, a 76% reduced risk of contracting Alzheimer's was demonstrated by those juicing at least three times a week. And that's juicing as in, "with a juicer." The study noted it was polyphenols, a particular strong type of antioxidant only found in the peels and skins of fruits that seemed to be responsible for the dramatic reduction. Given this, simply eating vegetables or buying vegetable and fruit juices at a store would not be sufficient to provide the benefit noted. Only a juicer would be able to process the entire food and make the polyphenols available to the body. More information can be found here: Juice Consumption Linked to Reduced Risk of Alzheimer's. |
